The Haven Social Club

Mike Ehlers was eleven when he found a guitar in the closet of my grandmother’s house. He used to hold it in my lap for long periods of time, pretending that he could play the two remaining strings. At his next birthday, his Uncle Walt gave him the guitar. It still had only two strings, but they fixed that pretty quick.

Since then Ehlers has always played music, sometimes more, at other times, less. He’s happy to say that lately, music has been on the “more” end of the spectrum. Ehlers was recently featured as one of four “Alberta Singer/Songwriters poised to burst onto the Alberta Music Scene” and has opened for local legend Bill Bourne, as well as played at the Heart of the City Festival. Other recent activity includes performing for City TV, playing for CBC Radio – Edmonton, sharing the stage with Anna Beaumont, and performing at the Edmontons “Night of Artists”, 8 Series Concerts, and the World Water Day Music and Arts show.
