Jasper Place Revitalization Strategy

Neighbourhoods bordering Stony Plain Road, from 142 St to 170 St., have been participating in a neighbourhood revitalization initiative to enhance the community and focus efforts on reducing crime, beautifying the area, and strengthening connections among residents and area businesses.

The Community Action Team has begun some short term actions aimed at generating visible results. There will be activities throughout 2008 these actions include:

• dealing with graffiti,
• creating a newsletter to share information with residents and business owners,
• community special events,
• safe streets and parks watch initiative and
• community and business area clean-up events.

It is expected that the Jasper Place revitalization plan which includes a new land use plan, physical improvements to the business area as well as social changes will be ready to submit to Council for approval by summer, 2008.

You can get involved, Volunteers Needed! Join a Working Group! We need a few more business and community members to volunteer to join a working group. You can get involved with Safety, Parks Initiatives, Community Beautification or addressing issues in your community.
