The music is passionate; it’s drive is heavy. It’s been described as lyrically poignant, as metal inspired alternative, and sometimes just plain honest rock.
Hailing from Toronto Ontario, brothers Josh and Luke Hutchinson, Grant Boyer, and Jason Yuricek of The Entropy are continuing to make a serious impact on the Canadian Alt/Rock scene.
Their first EP “Self Titled” was released in 2005, which led to a full length release written, recorded and co-produced by the band one year later. “An Arcane State” was released in 2006, and went on to sell 3000 copies off the stage alone. The leadoff single “Nothin New” garnered radio play locally, as well as on the Ontario college circuit. In support of “An Arcane State” The Entropy toured relentlessly, receiving critical acclaim from the both the industry, and their growing fan base alike.
In 2007 they headed back to the studio to record a new EP. Fuelled by a need to prove their music deserved a chance “The LA Sessions” were recorded in Los Angeles CA, and released in Canada in October 2007. The tracks “One Left” and “Digging Up Your Bones” were featured in various podcasts, television shows, and were instant fan favourites; as a result the boys once again hit the road.
“The band strikes a perfect balance onstage, not only with the vocal harmonies between Hutchinson and Boyer, but in combining all of the band’s musical dimensions. The duelling guitars, punchy rolling bass lines, powerful drumming, and the occasional growling scream all blend seamlessly together”
The Alliston Herald
In mid 2008 they took time off to write, and in September 2009 The Entropy began pre-production on a new batch of songs that are collectively the most solid effort by the foursome to date.
In late 2009 they began their recording session at DNA Recording Facilities in Toronto, Ontario.
“This EP is by far the best work that we have done to date. Steve and Jason were amazing to work with throughout the recording of these songs. Without the hard work and chemistry of both the Studio and the band, the new EP would not have turned out to be what it is today.”
Jayson Yuricek
… and on May 1st, 2010, performing to a sold out crowd, released their brand new EP entitled “Cities Will Fall”.
“It sounds like a knife fight battle between Nirvana homage and Tool power with winner to be determined”
Fan Comment – MySpace
“A marriage of power, pain, and fear, scored over an overdrive petal”

In late summer 2010 the Entropy will once again take to the road, with a full Cross Canada Tour planned.
With “Cities Will Fall”, The Entropy are set to prove they are stronger than ever. Not only is the album an overwhelmingly accomplished collection of hard hitting riffs, and intricate themes, but shows a renewed sense of determination.
“Cities is an aggressive 6 track examination of lost love, life, death, and the up-hill journey to find faith – even if at the end you only faith in yourself”
