The Haven Social Club

Don Amero is a singer/songwriter from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Don grew up with with both his parents instilling a musical passion in him. His Dad is a blue Grass/ Country guitar player and his Mom is a beautiful singer with one of the most amazing unsolicited voices. Both parents had the ability to take their talents to the next level, but because of life circumstances they never did take the time to try. This fueled Don’s passion to never give up and try as hard as he could to become a full time musician. He began performing in his High School days landing the lead rolls in all of the productions. Since his Dad played guitar, Don picked up a few tips here and there, but most of his playing ability was self taught. Writing songs became a closet hobby of his and soon enough he tried his hand at a local cafe to take the songs to the test, he was 21 at that time. Over the next few years Don spent his time in and out of bands and jobs all the while continuing his solo singer/songwriter trail. On September 15th 2007 Don walked off his day job (Hardwood Flooring Installer) and made that the day he would pursue a full time music career. He booked and played his first tour that fall. To date he has never worked a day job again!

Don released his first solo CD in October 2006 titled “Change Your Life” (Nominated for 5 Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards 2007 and 2 nominations in 2008) Don is now looking to put the music to work. “Change your life” is more than just a CD, it’s a vision to which Don is hoping his listeners will be drawn. In a day and age where we can literally watch this world slip into a state where we no longer have the power to change our wrongs, Don’s hope is that through his music, the listener will be inspired to take better care of themselves and the world we live in.
