A Secondhand New Years Eve – Fleetwood Mac “Rumors” Tribute

This New Year’s Eve, Thursday, December 31, the James Murdoch Band will be teaming up with Ann Vriend and Amber Bissonnette to perform, in full, the iconic album, “Rumours” by Fleetwood Mac.

James will be singing Linday Buckingham’s parts, Ann will sing Christine McVie’s parts and play keys, and Amber will sing Stevie Nick’s parts. Add to that the killer instrumentation of the full James Murdoch band: Nathan Carroll on guitar, Scott Gallant (also of the Faunts) on bass, Chris Budnarchuk on drums, and David Aide on organ and additional keys—and you have a pretty awesome line-up of professional well-known Edmonton performers!

This idea originated with James Murdoch, who says: “This is not a cheesy tribute band type thing, we simply all love these incredible songs and want to play them. All of them!” In addition to the the Rumours album the above line up will also play other covers of the 70s era to complete a full evening of great music.

Tickets are $30 per person, which includes hors d’oeuvres served throughout the evening. Tickets are available at The Haven Social Club, Megatunes, Blackbyrd Myoosik, and at Ticket Master, Click Here To Purchase Tickets

A bit about the line up:

The James Murdoch Band:
Award winning, Roots-rock/songwriter, James Murdoch has performed all over
North America, from New York to L.A., Newfoundland to his home town of
Whitehorse, Yukon. From festival to small club, Murdoch is equally at home on stage either solo, duo or with his full band. Murdoch writes beautifully crafted songs which are an ideal blend of roots wrapped in pop sensibility, highlighted by his powerful vocal talent and vivid storytelling. Murdoch has released 4 multi-award-nominated solo records, and has performed on many other recordings. In 2003 James signed with Montreal based, Indica/Aquarius Records, releasing 2 recordings. In 2007, Murdoch released “In Transit”, which was co-produced with Canadian superstar, Hawksley Workman, and most recently, “Wondering Where the Rush Has Gone”, released in July, 2009.

Ann Vriend:
Folk/pop singer-songwriter Ann Vriend regularly tours Europe, North America, and Australia, and has sold over 11,000 albums independently, mostly off the stage. Her gripping voice (described as a cross between Dolly Parton and Aretha Franklin), her strongly melodic and poetic writing style, reminiscent of artists such as Paul Simon and Leonard Cohen, and her self-accompanying prowess on the piano all contribute to Vriend’s definitive sound. Vriend is also known for her rapport with her audience, engaging them with witty humour and gripping stories between her powerfully delivered songs. October 2009 saw the release of Vriend’s latest CD entitled “Closer Encounters”; a live album recorded at various concerts and studios between 2008 and 2009.

Amber Bissonnette:
Amber Bissonnette is an Edmonton-based actor, musical theatre performer, choreographer, and dancer. She has also served as a back-up vocalist to many up and coming local recording artists at Norwood Studios. Select theatre performance credits include Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (Mayfield Theatre), The Winter’s Tale Project (Off Off Broadway) Orange Bus Productions), The Leisure Society (Theatre Network), Follies in Concert (Plain Janes), A Chorus Line (Stage West Calgary) Cheerleader!, Pulling Down, Breaking Face (Human Loser), Poki Talks (Teatro La Quindicina) Marie Christine, Company, A Little Night Music (Grant MacEwan) and West Side Story (Stage Polaris).
